Rumour has it that Drew McIntyre will face Damian Priest for the World Heavyweight Championship at Clash At The Castle.
The PLE, emanating from Glasgow, Scotland’s OVO Hydro on Saturday 15 June, is a special occasion. And for nobody more than McIntyre, the Scottish Warrior, who is the home country hero despite his on-screen heel status.
What Is The Rumour?
Now, McIntyre won the World Title after defeating Seth Rollins at WrestleMania 40. However, a CM Punk attack primed Drew for a title defeat to Priest, who cashed in Money In The Bank. If we believe the latest rumour, McIntyre will get a rematch against Priest in front of his home country fans.
Let’s not forget that McIntyre endured his two WWE Championship reigns occuring during the no-fans era. Therefore, Drew is deperate to right that wrong and to enjoy a proper reign as the face of Raw. A challenge for, and victory for, the World Title in his home country is the perfect tonic to his struggle. But could CM Punk impact McIntyre’s future once again? We will see.
Will Drew McIntyre Face Damian Priest?
We believe there is an excellent chance of McIntyre receiving his big rematch in Glasgow. Furthermore, WWE announced the PLE before WrestleMania, so many speculated that this would happen dating back to 2 April. Therefore, barring a McIntyre-Punk match in Scotland, we believe Drew will challenge for, and win, the World Title in Scotland.
