Ladies and Gentlemen, my name may not be Paul Heyman but today I am ranking the best matches of his best client, The Beast Incarnate: Brock Lesnar. With Lesnar’s career slowly winding down in terms of longevity, why not look back on his career highs. Although if he wrestles Gunther at Wrestlemania 40, then this list is quickly going to become outdated…. Anyway, given Brock’s longevity, he’s been around WWE from 2002-2004 then 2012 and onwards, and continued excellence this was naturally a difficult ranking. So, let’s get into the very best matches of Suplex Cities one and only Mayor.

10. Brock Lesnar vs. John Cena – WWE World Heavyweight Championship (Summerslam 2014)
Ahh yes, the result that should have happened two years earlier at Extreme Rules in 2012. Arguably, this is the true birth of Suplex City, Lesnar’s game breaking cheat of eating, sleep, german suplexing and repeating until John Cena could barely stand. Most of this match’s fun comes from watching Lesnar launching Cena like Rex Banner in that one Simpsons episode. Also, the visual of Paul Heyman counting the suplexes as Cena slowly goes limp is hilarious and oddly sinister. Overall, Lesnar’s domination, like Red Bull’s in F1, was a sight to behold, showcasing his incredible strength and brutality. If only we’d known how boring Suplex City would become.
9. Brock Lesnar vs. Goldberg – WWE Universal Championship (Wrestlemania 33)
Speaking of Suplex City, this is another fantastic example of a match which should have happened a hell of a lot sooner. To be specific back at WrestleMania 20 in 2004. Given this match clocked in at under 10 minutes and Goldberg’s age, it’s understandable why this becomes finisher spamming in a 2K game. But that works for this match because both men are presented as unstoppable forces who are incredibly destructive so naturally they’re not going to have a technical wrestling clinic. Overall this is a fantastic short but intense match where Lesnar finally got a victory over Goldberg at WrestleMania.
8. Brock Lesnar vs. Seth Rollins vs John Cena – Triple Threat Match for the WWE Championship (Royal Rumble 2015)
Now this won’t be the only triple threat involving Seth Rollins and Brock Lesnar on this list. I wonder what the other one could be…. Anyway, despite the 2015 Royal Rumble being as well received as Keir Starmer in Liverpool, let it never be forgotten that the triple threat for the WWE Championship was utter dynamite. Basically, all three men go mad from the word go and start busting out every counter under the sun, including AA’s into curb stomps and German Suplexes into superkicks. And how could I forget to mention the iconic elbow drop from the top rope through Lesnar on the announce table? Overall, a fantastic example of how to book a triple threat match.
7. Brock Lesnar vs. Eddie Guerrero – WWE Championship (No Way Out 2004)
Well, Eddie’s theme did say if you’re not cheating then you’re not trying so he was definitely trying here. Despite the best efforts of the fans prior to this, Eddie was never given a fair crack at the WWE Championship. That all changed during a fantastic program and match with Lesnar in 2004, featuring Lesnar conducting a mariachi band wearing a sombrero but I digress. Anyway, this match is fantastic as it showcase both men’s strengths before *THAT* finish where Goldberg spears Lesnar allowing Guerrero to nail him with the title and a frog splash to win his first (and only) WWE Championship. Honestly the only better than the match was the post match celebrations where there’s not a dry eye in the house. Overall, a great match showcasing Lesnar’s strength against Guerrero’s resilience and cunning.
6. Brock Lesnar vs. Roman Reigns vs. Seth Rollins – Triple Threat Match for the WWE Championship (WrestleMania 31)
Ok, calling this a triple threat is slightly cheating given how only the last tenish minutes involved Rollins but I digress. Even before the heist of the century, this was a great match with both Lesnar and Reigns hitting each other with the force of Francis Ngannou’s punches which actually gets a bit hard to watch at times. Regardless, Lesnar ends up seeing red (literally and not the Bruce Willis film) when he gets bounced off the ring post. But obviously this match is only remembered for the iconic cash in which got WWE out of the rock and a hard place situation they had. Anyway, Lesnar put on an incredible match in a triple threat, with multiple dramatic moments.
5. Brock Lesnar vs Roman Reigns – Last Man Standing Match for the WWE Undisputed Universal Championship (Summerslam 2022)
Now you might be wondering, have I put this match on this list solely because of Brock having a tractor which he drove to the ring and used to tip the ring over with? Well kind of. While the visual of Roman being sent tumbling like a snowball down a hill is the main takeaway from this match, there’s still plenty of hardcore fun. And yes, other than that tractor spot and Paul Heyman being F-5ed through a table there’s not too much here. But honestly, this match is great because it’s fun and when’s the last time prior to this where a wrestling match had you genuinely laughing at it? Also, that mic catch and wink from Roman at the start is f***king boss, pardon my Scouse.
4. Brock Lesnar vs. Kurt Angle – 60 Minute Iron Man Match for the WWE Championship (Smackdown, May 2003)
If anyone has read our ranking of the best Kurt Angle Matches, you’ll know all about how much time I have for this match. And not just because it lasts for an hour… Anyway, this is the peak of Brock in his first run with the company as he and Angle have a phenomenal match for the WWE Championship. Now this match does what a lot of iron man matches struggle with: the pacing of individual falls. Despite the match running for an hour, it never feels like the pair are gassing themselves or going too slow and losing the audience’s investment. Honestly, it was very difficult working out how many Kurt Angle and Brock Lesnar matches to put on this list. Overall, an intense and high-quality match for the WWE Championship.
3. Brock Lesnar vs. CM Punk – No Disqualification (SummerSlam 2013)
The Best vs The Beast. Once again, that tagline is still so f***king perfect even a decade after the match. While the Paul Heyman-CM Punk feud died on its feet, its beginning was absolute perfect with Punk being pitted against the mayor of Suplex City. There’s plenty to love here as Punk tries every trick in the book to try and take Lesnar down while Brock just manhandles him. Given I’ve covered it in the best Summerslam matches ranking, I’m not going to dwell too much more on this fantastic match. Overall, a great match where Lesnar faced off against Punk in a hard-hitting match that displayed Lesnar’s power against Punk’s resilience.
2. Brock Lesnar vs. AJ Styles – Champion vs Champion (Survivor Series 2017)
This is such a toss up because any of the top four could easily be number one but unfortunately for the Phenomenal One, this comes up just short. But there’s no shame because Lesnar has his working boots on as he really makes you believe Styles is crippling his legs. Also, that spot of Styles having Lesnar in a Calf Crusher and Lesnar getting out of it by smashing Styles’ head into the canvas. And the ending of Lesnar standing gingerly on one leg but still managing to catch a Phenomenal Forearm into a F5 is fantastic as even in defeat Styles looks incredible (not that’s it’s a surprise) Truly this match is an exciting clash of styles, pun intended, showcasing Lesnar’s brute force against Styles’ agility and technical skill. Also, just think how close we were to getting Brock Lesnar vs Jinder Mahal……
1. Brock Lesnar vs Daniel Bryan – Champion vs Champion (Survivor Series 2018)
And our choice for the best Brock Lesnar match is….. Brock Lesnar vs Daniel Bryan at Survivor Series 2018. The main reason this is number one is because it combines the best parts of his Summerslam demolition of Cena, his phenomenal styles clash (pun again intended) with Styles and the real life injuries that Bryan had. The first half is a brutal deconstruction of Bryan with suplexes which gets dangerously close to a snuff film as even Heyman looks horrified on the outside. However, all it takes is a ref bump, low blow and running knee and suddenly Bryan is alive and beating Lesnar back. While the result in the end was probably never in doubt, my god WWE have you on the edge of your seat. Overall, what starts out as Hostel with German Suplexes turns into an instant classic which deserves so much praise.
